Since January 2016 Jan-Lucas Schanze works as a researcher and PhD student for the team of the European Social Survey (ESS) at the GESIS – Leibniz Institute for the Social Sciences. He is mainly responsible for Task 2.5 of the SERISS project and examines the feasibility of an inclusion of the institutional population into a sample survey of the general population in different European countries.

Before joining GESIS Jan-Lucas Schanze studied political science and economics at the universities of Mannheim, Sciences Po de Paris and Berlin. In 2015 he received a master’s degree (M.A.) in Political Science at FU Berlin. During his studies he developed a lively interest in survey methodology and cross-national survey designs, quantitative analyses and political sociology.
